Balloon wars

You might have read in a few of the previous posts about the annual balloon wars that happen at the end of each year. The first ever balloon wars was in 2013 at the last interdojo competition of the year, and has been a regular feature since. It was a new initiative from the SAKF to collect some money which would eventually get re-invested into kendo in South Africa.

Here is a clip to give you an idea of what it was like. Unfortunately it only includes the last 4 men standing, but we'll leave it up to your imagination as to what it looks like when 50+ individuals are going at it.

Hopefully you will get a chance to experience this event for yourself one day

If you were curious: the last man standing was Andre Coetzer from Mushin
