Mushin's little mascot
Julia, is a 5 year old little girl, who's father joined Mushin a few years ago. Ever since then she has shown a great interest in kendo, and can't wait for her chance to join us in the dojo.
She has been an fervent supporter of Mushin at local demonstrations, and as such has gained the title of "Mushin's little mascot"
Whenever given the chance, she joins her dad at the dojo for some training. She has already learnt how to count in japanese up to 10, a skill some of our more senior beginners still struggle with from time to time.
Earlier this year her father surprised her with her very own bogu kit for her birthday, decorated with ornate little pandas, raising the cuteness factor into the extremes.
The Mushin members are waiting in great anticipation for the day that she can finally train with us, but for now we will settle for the few chances that we get to see her.
She is the future of ladies kendo in South Africa, and we feel extremely privileged to be part of that incredible journey with her.
See you in the dojo soon
